A deeply complex single malt whiskey, inspired by an experience in Scotland with peat-smoked single malts. It hails from Corsair, an experimental distillery whose risk-taking has paid off, not least in the form of double gold medals from the prestigious San Francisco World Spirits Competition. The popularity of this bottle over the last decade played a key role in the emergence of American single malt whiskies across the nation.
It all adds up to a Nashville, TN whiskey that honors the traditions of Scottish production methods, while remaining quintessentially American: innovative, bold, and full-flavored.
"Triple Smoke holds true to the American barbecue tradition, simultaneously very smoky, very savory, and very sweet, like the sticky burnt ends of a well-lacquered rack of ribs." - Margaret Waterbury, The Whiskey Wash
||Charred wood, sweet barbecue smoke, notes of cherry. Light grain, butterscotch fudge and light notes of mesquite. The sweetness of an American whiskey with the richness of an Islay single malt scotch.
After the Scottish tradition, this is a single-malt smoked by three different types of woods. Using these three distinct smokes gives a consistent and balanced smoke from first sip to the lingering finish. Once smoked, the whiskey is double distilled before being aged in new charred oak. A shorter aging than might be expected ensures the spirits remains infused with its seductive, smoky flavor.
||Founders Darek Bell and Andrew Webber are childhood friends. They started out as home brewers, and they bring that same experimental and irreverent sensibility to their whiskeys. Their distillery was the first to open in Nashville since prohibition. Corsair's spirits have been nationally lauded, in publications like: Food and Wine, Saveur, Imbibe, Whisky Magazine, Whisky Advocate and the Atlantic. Their innovative and adventurous spirits have won over 800 medals at national and international spirits competitions. Corsair refers to their distillery as the home of "handcrafted small batch ultra-American booze."
