OAX Original Tobalá is crafted from 100% Agave (A. potatorum) from San Luis del Rio, Oaxaca, Mexico. This agave is foraged from the semi-arid Central Valleys of Oaxaca when it's at its peak for distilling. The plants are around 12 years old.
After being crushed by a horse-drawn tahona, the agave is cooked in an earthen oven fired with woods of Tepehuaje, Mesquite and Oak. Finally it is double-distilled in copper.
