Corsair Ryemageddon American Rye Whiskey

The name is pretty bombastic, like a lot of the wild experimental stuff Corsair is known for doing.

This bottle is in line with the house style, and your first sign of that is the intense and delicious aroma that hits you when you inhale.

A chocolatey, espresso-y, smokey experience beckons.

You won't be disappointed.

"If you want a chocolate note in your whiskey, this is the one to get. If you love coffee notes in your whiskey, this is the one to get. And although I try to keep my reviews as straightforward as possible, I will venture off the beaten path for a moment and say that I have fallen for this bottle hard and simply must find more.” - The Bourbon Culture

750ml & 94 Proof

Tasting Notes

The texture is heavy yet rich with an undeniable chocolate and rye profile. The finish is smooth and warm that leaves a touch of buttery vanilla notes on the palate.

Ways to Enjoy
Classic: Rye Manhattan with the lovely Carpano Antica Vermouth & bitters

Unexpected: Make it a Rye Tai: mix with black tea, pineapple & lemon juice and a dash of cinnamon

88/100 on
Production Notes

Everything is done with pride in-house at Corsair. This is an aged version (no statement) of Corsair’s Wry Moon white whiskey, made from a blend of malted rye, chocolate-roasted rye, and malted barley; making this whiskey sweet, yet peppery. The charred oak barrel aging gives it a smoked chocolate profile.

Founder Facts
Founders Darek Bell and Andrew Webber are childhood friends. They started out as home brewers, and they bring that same experimental and irreverent sensibility to their whiskeys. Their distillery was the first to open in Nashville since prohibition.  Corsair's spirits have been nationally lauded in publications like: Food and Wine, Saveur, Imbibe, Whisky Magazine, Whisky Advocate and the Atlantic. Their innovative and adventurous spirits have won over 800 medals at national and international spirits competitions. Corsair refers to their distillery as the home of "handcrafted small batch ultra-American booze."

Please drink responsibly.
